I first met Kara earlier this summer, way before fall even began peeking through the green leaves like it is now. From the minute Kara and I sat down to talk about her wedding, I felt like I had found a friend I hadn’t seen in years. We talked about life, relationships, living in Loudoun, and so much more! It was so much fun and so meaningful, I couldn’t stop raving about her to my roommates. Seriously a gift!
Soon it was time for Kara & Matthew’s engagement session. When they arrived in the parking lot for their sunset session and stepped out of their car, I thought,
Oh-my-word. I get to photograph movie stars tonight!
Also, I’ve maybe never (ever) in my career worked with two people who’ve NEVER been in front of a professional camera before AND knew how to absolutely rock a smile and slay a smize without missing a beat. DANG. It was like they’d done it before! Tyra Banks would’ve been so proud! You know who else would’ve been proud? Every judge on Project Runway –– because their outfits. were. on. point. They took the Engagement Style Guide (the guide I send to all of my clients) and RAN WITH IT. They looked like models! Also…
Seriously, these two couldn’t have been sweeter.
Every minute of my time with them got me even more excited for their wedding this November. Kara and Matthew, thank you for braving the Virginia summer with me so we could take these sunset engagement photos. This place has never looked so good! Even though I can hardly wait to get you two in front of my camera again, it’ll be like Thanksgiving came twice when we see you in November. Until then, keep smiling those sweet smiles and dancing through the planning. I hope you love these images as much as I do. Let the countdown to your wedding begin!
