Christine and Michael knew that they were going to hold a country wedding on their own property, so from the beginning, Christine was looking for a photographer with a timeless & natural style. I’m so glad that she connected with me! Photographing this romantic country wedding was so fun. When I asked Christine about the love story that led up to this beautiful farm wedding, she did not disappoint!

Christine & Michael’s Love Story

“Our story began when I was working at a construction company and I’d just had a super gross date, so I asked a coworker if he had any nice farm guys. I figured I like animals so why not switch it up? But little did I know that would be my last first date!

“Michael invited me to a Gala as our first date, but I think it went well because the very next night I attended his cousin’s wedding with him (lol.) I had just purchased my dream home in Annapolis, but after just four weeks I packed up & moved into a 300-square-foot 1920s converted smokehouse where Michael and I lived for 3 three years.

Although I grew up in Annapolis, being a tomboy always ran deep in my blood as well as a passion for animals, so I adapted quickly to farm life. We were fortunate to build our dream home last year & spend our days working on the farm.”

Natural Colors & Beautiful Details at this Country Wedding

Natural colors were a top priority for Christine as she planned this country wedding. She went with dusty blues & icy tones, whites, and plenty of beautiful greenery with a few punchy pink accents. The ceremony spot overlooked the beautiful green fields, and with that as the main focus, the other details were simple: white flowers and a circle of eucalyptus for the perfect romantic touch.

For the reception, everyone rode the farm vehicles down to a lovely white tent. The neutral theme continues here, with white tables and gold accents. You can see Christine’s love for animals – she used little golden animal figurines as place name holders. It was so cute!

The bridal & bridesmaids’ portraits are still something I look back on with a huge smile. Something about the lighting and the colors in the woods just made them extra magical. This was a VERY fun group – so much laughter and joy.

I also loved the couple portraits at the end of the night. Michael & Christine showed me their motorcycle, which was so fun to feature! We soaked up those last few minutes of light as the sun started to go down. Everything glowed!
I’m wishing Christine and Michael the happiest start to their new life together. If you find yourself inspired by this beautiful country wedding, and you want more ideas on how to marry a rustic setting with an elegant aesthetic, check out this lovely Fox Barn wedding!
