Abbie Grace and William’s Washington, D.C. Engagement Session
There’s something especially timeless about an engagement session in Washington, D.C., a setting that feels both grand and deeply personal. I love coming back to this place over and over again! For Abbie Grace and William, we chose two iconic locations that gave their session a beautiful sense of balance: the Jefferson Memorial for the first half, and the National Gallery of Art for the second.
From the very beginning, their session felt effortless.

At the Jefferson Memorial, the soft stone architecture and open views created the perfect backdrop for portraits that felt classic, romantic, and full of quiet emotion. There’s a steadiness to that space, refined, peaceful, and full of ageless appeal, that paired so naturally with Abbie Grace and William’s connection. They moved through each moment with such ease, and the result was imagery that felt both elevated and organic.
What I loved most about this portion of their Washington, D.C. engagement session was the way their relationship remained the main event. Even with one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks surrounding them, nothing distracted from the warmth they share. Every glance, every laugh, and every in-between moment added to photographs that preserved not just how this season looked, but how it felt.

For the second part of their session, we headed to the National Gallery of Art, and it was the perfect contrast.
Where the Jefferson Memorial offered a classic and architectural feel, the National Gallery of Art brought in an editorial edge. The clean lines, soft light, and quiet interiors made space for portraits that felt polished, artistic, and deeply personal. It was a seamless shift in setting while still keeping the overall session cohesive and timeless.
That contrast is part of what made this D.C. engagement session so special. It held both softness and structure. Grand scenery and intimate connection. Stunning portraits and candid moments. In so many ways, it reflected the kind of balanced imagery I always want my couples to walk away with, photographs that exude everything they sensed in the moment. And bonus, it was WARM! We were chilly after the Jefferson so it was a perfect contrast in more ways than one.

Abbie Grace and William, you two were a joy to photograph. The way you were present with each other, comfortable in front of the camera, and full of the kind of natural chemistry, made every image feel alive and so sweet. Your session is such a beautiful example of how meaningful engagement photos can be when the experience feels calm, intentional, and true to who you are.
Thank you for the honor of being your photographer!
