Elegant, luxury, romantic, and vintage details made this wedding editorial shoot a real show-stopper! I loved everything from the nearly all-white venue to the orchids, big bow dress and white gloves, classic car, and unique ceremony setup. Photographing at such a well-designed venue is a real treat. You can tell that it was designed with lighting in mind! I loved the floral layout with delicate orchids, the simple yet romantic and exquisite dress, and the sweet, genuine emotions throughout this chilly day! I would photograph here every month if I could. It is always an honor to capture such lovely winter beauty!
Thinking about The Ivy Rose Barn for your wedding? Here are some of the reasons why I love this venue.
Why The Ivy Rose Barn in Rocky Mount, Virginia?
White Palette
- The neutral/white color palette reflects light in a way that flatters everything and everyone! Concerned about rain? You’ll want to keep Ivy Rose in mind as it’s one of the few venues where you’ll still have the opportunity to capture light-filled photos! The outside portion features a open layout where you can see nature and receive tons of light with the protection of a roof. The space is perfect for a ceremony or reception.
Bridal Suite
- This venue has a huge bridal suite. It’s not every day that you can do ALL the bridal getting ready portraits in the same room where you’re getting ready. If you’re planning to NOT do a first look, I highly suggest this space since you won’t have to worry about skimping on photos in order to stay hidden from your groom.
Elegantly Designed Spaces
- Designated cocktail hour space! We love a venue with all the amenities close by to allow for ease of access and/or easy flipping. For example, let’s say you want to have your ceremony in this lovely, open layout, open roof structure AND you’d like to host your cocktail hour here before your reception. Since it’s a close walk to and from each building, you can do just that with minimal disruption to the flow of the day. Your guests and vendors will thank you for the ease of movement as you transition from ceremony to cocktail hour and reception.
