There’s something magical about late summer in Virginia. It’s the kind of day where the sun hangs low, the fields glow golden, and everything feels still for just a moment. Olivia and Andrew’s engagement session captured that feeling perfectly. It was so romantic, refined, and beautifully true to them.

Olivia, Andrew, and I met on a beautiful September afternoon to take their engagement photos. Set against the rolling hills and open pastures of Virginia’s countryside, their session embodied everything I love about photographing in this part of the world. The way the light filters through the trees, the sound of wind moving through tall grass, and the soft, quiet moments that happen in between laughter. The horses were a beautiful bonus. They were so sweet and friendly!

Olivia and Andrew brought such an intentional style to their day through their own luxury western aesthetic that felt timeless yet personal. Aren’t they both so stunning together? Olivia’s flowing ruffled dress and boots paired effortlessly with Andrew’s crisp white shirt and denim, creating a look that felt equal parts elevated and laid-back. His Ariat belt and her gold jewelry tied it all together perfectly! They may call D.C. home, but this countryside setting perfectly reflected their hearts: joyful, kind, and deeply connected. We had so much fun!

Warm, natural, and timelessly elegant

We spent the afternoon exploring one of my favorite hidden gems in the foothills of Bluemont, Virginia, at The Bluemont Belle, sharing stories, chasing light, and letting the day unfold naturally. As the sun began to set, the soft glow turned everything around us to gold. We loved it! It was a perfect close to an evening that felt as effortless as it was intentional.

I love how every frame from this session feels like Virginia at its best—warm, natural, and timelessly elegant.
