Today, we are celebrating two important milestones. First, Hannah and Derek’s winter engagement session blog post is live! Second, all 2023 Weddings have been documented, and we can look forward to 2024 weddings – including Hannah & Derek’s big day. This year has been filled with many special engagements, but Hannah and Derek’s winter session in Georgetown, DC, was a highlight! Hannah and Derek went to high school together and started dating when she was 18 and he was 20. They took some time to grow and then eventually found their way back to each other. They’ve been together for seven years and are planning their wedding for 2024!
We met in the afternoon and explored the best streets as the light became golden. I loved Hannah’s style for the first half of their session, cozy sweaters, but then my jaw dropped when I saw her silk dress! That green was stunning on her and matched the aesthetic of the whole environment so well. These two were down for anything, and by the middle of our time together, we were in full documentary-style photography – a huge fave. One of my favorite moments was the photos in front of the market! They were happy to try to create my vision for that moment. It was natural and made me feel like I was capturing a romantic movie!
Hannah and Derek, thank you for the trust you placed in me. Thank you for every kind word. You are both so lovely, and it was great to spend the evening together. You are both beautiful, outside and inside, and I hope you love seeing yourselves through my lens — and re-living your winter engagement session day through my eyes.
I’m already looking forward to seeing you next year for your wedding day!
