The Story of This Barn at Willow Brook Wedding Started 13 Years Ago
Getting to photograph Courtney & Travis’s wedding day at the Barn at Willow Brook was SO much fun. This is a couple with a rich history, and it really shone through in every moment. It all started 13 years before she walked down that aisle. Courtney says that their first date was very romantic… until Travis drank his soup out of a straw! Luckily, they both got a kick out of it, and to this day Travis says he did that to make sure she could put up with his goofiness.
Clearly, she’s been doing an amazing job with that, because in December of 2019, after 11 years together, Travis proposed to her in St. Augustine, Florida during the night of the light’s celebration. He surprised Courtney with a mini-vacation and drove her down to a beautiful beach cottage! She had no idea what was up.
That night, Travis took her out for dinner, and as they were eating, they could see horse-drawn carriages walking up the road along a beautiful intercoastal waterway. After dinner, Travis told Courtney that he had reserved a horse-drawn carriage to take them around to see all the Christmas lights! After a while of enjoying the scenery, the driver (who was in on it all!) asked if they would like to get out for a few pictures with the lights. So, Travis handed him his cell phone for pictures, and as they were taking photos, Courtney looked over and Travis was down on one knee!
Every Detail Matters
Fast forward to their wedding day at the Barn at Willow Brook, and that same playful spirit and tender love were so evident between them. I LOVE dedicating as much time to each element of the wedding so nothing is missed. It’s one of the reasons I arrive so early to set up & start details. I don’t want to miss a thing. Telling the story from start to finish is so important to me! In this case, it was crucial to capturing each romantic look and meaningful detail.
