I’ve known Allie for years, so I knew this engagement session at Raspberry Plain Manor would be special, but it was so far beyond what I dreamed! I can’t get over how much it blesses me to see my friends fall in love with such amazing men. It’s such a privilege to then get to know both of them better while documenting their love & upcoming marriage.

I hardly did any posing during this shoot because Allie & Alex are naturally comfortable in front of the camera! After I gave them a few prompts they totally warmed up. The February weather may have been freezing, but you’d never know it looking at these shots — they were so present in the moment & relaxed in their love.

Beautiful Winter Light at Raspberry Plain Manor

When we started to plan this engagement shoot, outdoor scenery was their top request. We chose to go to Morven Park for some of the session, as well as Raspberry Plain Manor. This manor was one of the amazing venues Alex and Allie had considered for their wedding, and the manor was kind enough to let us photograph their session there one crisp Saturday afternoon.

They wanted my opinion on colors & lighting, and I really love the deep blues & airy whites that we ended up going with. The white facade of the Morven Park mansion made for an elegant backdrop that totally fitted Alex and Allie’s classic, beautiful vibe. The real star of the show, though, was the amazing pale winter light we were lucky enough to get flooding the grounds around Raspberry Plain Manor. It gave this photo session such a bright & ethereal look!
