Brooke and Cameron arrived in the US from Australia and met me at one of my favorite locations in Maryland
One week before Christmas, Brooke and Cameron arrived in the US from Australia and met me at one of my favorite locations in Maryland, the waterfront and streets of Annapolis! It was a chilly, windy, winter day, but we embraced it all as we walked through the streets and talked about everything from buying used cars to their love story, dancing, family and more!
I can’t wait to share more about their love story, but I’ll save that for their wedding day post come Fall 2024. For now, I wanted to share a bit about Brooke’s incredible style and sweet heirloom accessories!
If you notice, in some photos she is wearing two rings. On top of her beautiful winter style, she had the most meaningful accesories!
If you notice, in some photos she is wearing two rings. The first one on her ring finger is her engagement ring, the one that Cameron gave her! If you look carefully, there are some unique details that now, after getting to know Brooke, are so “her” and absolutely stunning! I may be a wedding photographer, but I don’t know everything about rings so it’s always a treat to hear about the whole process. So many grooms become absolute experts with the 5 C’s by the time they propose to their future brides!
The second ring on Brooke’s hand is her grandmother’s ring. How special is that? I couldn’t get over how well that ring complimented Brooke’s own ring, while adding an extra element of elegance and style.
Brooke has the creative eye for design so it was beyond fun to chat about all these sweet and sentimental elements!
Later, Brooke explained that even her necklace was super meaningful. Brooke’s mom was given an upgrade so her original engagement ring had been replaced with a new one. When Brooke realized this, she had an idea. Brooke asked her mom if she could create something with it and have it featured yet again. The necklace holds the diamond sideways and adds even more meaning to Brooke’s whole ensemble. I told Brooke that I really appreciated knowing this because I have been wondering what might happen to my own mom’s engagement ring one day. Brooke has the creative eye for design so it was beyond fun to chat about all these sweet and sentimental elements!
Adding in meaningful elements to your engagement session is a great way to stay connected and feel like each photo has the deep authenticity we all love. If you’d like to see more, stick around and check out this post for more inspiration!
Brooke and Cameron, thank you for the honor of being your wedding photographer! You both brightened my week with your presence and fun stories. I am so glad you found each other and can’t wait to celebrate you two this year!
