Elaina just graduated from VCU, and in case you haven’t noticed, she also happens to be absolutely stunning! For real. Isn’t she just so beautiful?! Oh, and by the way, she’s also sweet, has the best laugh and rocks heels like nobody’s business. Plus, she is a bride-to-be. That’s right! She’s getting married to the love of her life this October and I have the honor of being her photographer then too! Talk about an exciting season! Elaina, we met at just the right time and I am so grateful for our friendship that began with a simple email two years ago!

Okay, now back to her graduation session in Richmond, Virginia. This warm, golden Saturday gave us the loveliest evening light. It took me spending about three minutes with Elaina before I decided she was going to be my new poster child for what to wear for a college graduation shoot. Everything she pulled out of her bag was magic. Plus, the COVID mask and toilet paper made this session so memorable. We had so much fun! Every pair of shoes and every accessory was styled just right. But Elaina’s best accessory of all? Confidence. It exuded through every frame, and I don’t think we could have had any more fun on our shoot. Poor Elaina was also there to witness my first experience with confetti and was sweet enough to help me pick up a few of the “fly aways”. I tried using my Gathre mat, but that was only mildly helpful with the wind. I was laughing so hard as we tried to make sure it didn’t go too far. We spread our joy throughout the street that night. After editing through her photos, I can’t help but think, it was definitely worth it.
