Micro Backyard Wedding in Purcellville Virginia

Happy Thursday, friends!

I’m SO excited to be back in the swing of blogging and sharing this romantic backyard wedding with you today! Though I distantly remember Grayson and probably Victoria from local childhood baseball games and other events, I officially met them as a couple this spring when I photographed their Engagement Session at Kalero Vineyard in Purcellville, Virginia — one of my all-time favorites that is just about to hit the blog too! It was FREEZING and windy for their engagement session, but warm and delightfully perfect for their micro, backyard May wedding. Covid may have changed their original plans, but nothing was stopping these two, and that made the day even more meaningful as they planned and organized such a relaxed day. Working with them was a breeze. They handled it all with such grace!

When it came time for the backyard wedding, what struck me most about the day wasn’t just the stunning flowers or the dress or the drive through of friends after or even the impeccable design of the wedding ceremony location.

Although it was all gorgeous, it wasn’t any of that. Instead, it was the pure, in-the-moment look of happiness on Grayson’s face the first time he saw Victoria, and how calm and comfortable she was in his arms. They are just made for each other.

And as an extra bonus for me, these two also know how to turn. it. on. for. the. camera.

Which was just so fun! But the quiet moments they shared in-between the moments were what really got me. They were so comfortable and sweet to each other. That, combined with the wide open hearts their family and friends had for them all day and into the night, made for an unforgettable event.

Grayson and Victoria, it seems like this day is a distant memory after such a full summer, doesn’t it? I still remember the first time I stepped foot in your home and the warmth, kindness, and hospitality you showed me! Being there at your side on the most important day of your life was an honor and a pleasure. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for trusting me with your most precious memories. It was cloudy just enough on your wedding day with a threat of rain, but didn’t spoil the fun! Instead, we got magical light (the kind you know I love!) that put an exclamation point on what was already destined to be a perfect day, because you two were in it. Love you both tons and tons and can’t wait to see you all again soon! Hope you love these highlights as much as I do! So, without further adieu, here’s a look at some favorite moments from your wedding day through my eyes.
