Leena & David’s outdoor engagement photos capture the classic and romantic story of opposites who found love together. For these intimate photos, they went with the Oatlands in Leesburg, Virginia, which provided them with many historic- and nature-filled backdrops that perfectly complemented their love for one another.

Leena & David’s Story

In Leena’s own words, “We met at a boxing gym just around four years ago now. We were opposites in every way you can imagine except for our values. Fast forward four years and we’ve merged two different faiths, families, and cultures into the most beautiful blend!”

I always want to hear how my couples met and what their love stories are. It helps me authentically tell their story through their photos, whether those are outdoor engagement photos, nautical engagement photos, cherry blossom engagement photos, or other kinds of engagement photos!

Learning about Leena and David’s story was a real treat, and they’re the perfect example of how opposites can attract!

Leena & David’s Outdoor Engagement Photos

Another photographer connected Leena and I together. My work really spoke to Leena in terms of what she was looking for with wedding photography. I can’t tell you how happy that made me, knowing I was able to produce the kind of work someone wanted to be a part of their special day.

When it came to planning their outdoor engagement photos, I provided as much guidance as I could on location. Sometimes couples know what they want but aren’t sure where to find it, or sometimes they know where they want their engagement photos to be taken, but they aren’t sure how to best take advantage of the location. Regardless of the couple’s situation or struggles, I’m happy to help in any way I can, and the Oatlands was a great option for Leena and David’s outdoor engagement photos.

For those outdoor engagement photos, we made full use of the Oatlands estate. We also split our time there between a session with formal attire and a session with casual attire. Knowing the importance of matching backdrops with attire, I made sure to look for the right spots on the estate to complement what Leena and David were wearing at the time.

That was easy to do given just how beautiful and lush the Oatlands grounds were. We had our pick of historic backdrops, nature backdrops, and usually a combination of both! Lots of whites and greens created the feel of something classy and traditional. We took photos in front of the Oatlands Historic House, on the paths leading around the grounds, and in front of the greenery decorating those grounds too.

Leena and David were great to work with throughout their shoot, and they were thrilled with how their outdoor engagement photos turned out.

Final Thoughts

If you’re interested in outdoor engagement photos of your own, I’d love to work with you! I’d be just as happy to work with you on another kind of engagement photos too. In short, just tell me what you’re looking to do, and I’ll make it happen. Looking forward to hearing from you!
