Ashley & Andrew chose to host their small spring wedding at The Line Hotel in DC. The Line Hotel is housed in a former neoclassical church building situated in the trendy DC neighborhood, Adams Morgan.
Ashley got ready for her wedding day in the 7th floor bridal suite at The Line Hotel. The view of DC from the bridal suite is amazing! When we stepped out to take portraits, I realized it also includes a view of the Washington Monument.

Ashley chose a stunning dress designed by Jenny Yoo and paired it with a pair of beautiful golden shoes to complete her bridal look. She slipped into her dress and enjoyed a few moments with her parents just before heading down to the stairs where she would meet Andrew for their first look.
It was such an incredible moment. I remember it so well. Ashley was patient as I prepared the “scene” in front of the epic mirror in the stairway – her idea! It is always a little bit exciting in those moments as I navigate hiding the bride from the groom and communicating where everyone needs to be in a place that is new to everyone. Between their awesome family and the helpful staff, it all fell into place. I think Ashley’s vision of their first look came together beautifully. I can’t get over how stunning she looked as she walked down those stairs. No wonder Andrew shed a few timeless tears throughout the evening.

After their first look we took an Uber to the Lincoln Memorial for their bride and groom portraits. It was one of the first busy days in DC, but all the coordination it was SO worth it. Ashley and Andrew climbed all the stairs – a feat in heels and a long dress – and navigated the crowds with ease. It was so relaxing even with our 30 minute time crunch. That always tells me something about how special a couple truly is. I walked them through my core poses, but honestly, I ended up letting them do everything naturally as they just fell into each other’s arms so beautifully. What a dream.
After the Lincoln Memorial portraits we all headed back to The Line Hotel where they had their ceremony, preformed by Honorable Sharon Prost. I hope you can see the love their family has for them through these portraits. Their ceremony was timeless and so heartfelt. What a gift!
Lastly, it was time for dancing, toasts and dinner. A surprise sunset peeked out just as I was packing up to leave. The whole day had been cloudy, but just at the right moment, the sun gave us a treat. I am so glad they asked me at the last minute to snap a few photos. They may not be perfect in some people’s eyes, but wow, they are one of my favorites. Ashley and Andrew, you two make any sunset more beautiful!
