This beautiful couple connected with me when they were researching their venue – The Line Hotel DC – and stumbled on some images from a wedding I had shot there. They were planning a DC wedding to introduce all their friends and family to the city they fell in love in four years ago, and it was such a joy to get to photograph their engagement session and their wedding, too.
The Best Time for DC Engagement Photos
Getting to shoot these DC engagement photos was so fun! Even though it was a quieter weekday, there were still tourists around, and I loved the challenge of creating “clean” (or people-free) images – sometimes through some pretty creative angles. At one point I was standing on the edge of the monument to capture them on the corner! It turned out exactly how I envisioned it and made me so happy.
I can’t talk about these DC engagement photos without mentioning the sunflare moments at the very end. I knew that golden hour was one of the best times for an outdoor photography session, and sometimes all the little stars align to make everything come together. Those moments are magical, and this one was a dream come true!
